Gentle extractions, when they’re needed

Safe, comfortable tooth removal with clear aftercare — and a plan to restore your smile.

A last resort, done right

Only when it’s the best option

Our goal is always to save your natural teeth — but sometimes removing a tooth is genuinely the healthiest choice. That might be the case with severe decay, a tooth broken beyond repair, advanced gum disease, infection, or crowding that’s affecting the rest of your smile.

When an extraction is the right call, we make the experience as gentle and stress-free as possible. The area is thoroughly numbed, the procedure is efficient, and we give you clear, simple aftercare guidance for a smooth recovery. We’ll also talk through replacing the tooth — with an implant, bridge or denture — so your smile and bite stay complete.

Good to know

Extraction questions

Does an extraction hurt?
The area is fully numbed, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure — just some pressure. Any soreness afterward is usually mild and easily managed.
How long is recovery?
Most people feel back to normal within a few days. We’ll give you clear aftercare instructions to help you heal smoothly and comfortably.
Should I replace the extracted tooth?
Usually yes — replacing it keeps your bite aligned and stops neighbouring teeth from drifting. We’ll discuss implants, bridges or dentures as options.
Can you help if I’m anxious?
Absolutely. We take things at your pace, explain each step, and offer sedation options so you can stay calm and comfortable throughout.
What is “dry socket” and how do I avoid it?
Dry socket happens when the protective blood clot at the site is dislodged. Following our aftercare — avoiding straws, smoking and vigorous rinsing early on — greatly reduces the risk.
What can I eat after an extraction?
Stick to soft, cool foods for the first day or two — yogurt, smoothies (no straw), soups and mashed potatoes are all good choices. Avoid hot, crunchy or spicy foods while the site heals, and chew on the other side of your mouth. We’ll give you a full aftercare guide before you leave.
