Protect and restore a damaged tooth

Custom crowns that rebuild strength and give your tooth a natural, lasting finish.

Strength meets beauty

A cap that brings your tooth back to life

A dental crown is a custom-made cover that fits right over a weak, cracked or heavily-filled tooth — restoring its shape, strength and appearance in one go. Think of it as a protective helmet for a tooth that can no longer stand up to daily biting and chewing on its own.

Made to match your natural teeth in colour and contour, a well-fitted crown lets you eat and smile with total confidence. Crowns are often used to protect a tooth after a root canal, to rebuild one that’s badly decayed or broken, or to cover a discoloured or misshapen tooth for cosmetic reasons.

  • Strengthens cracked, worn or filled teeth
  • Colour-matched for a seamless look
  • Often completes a root canal or large filling
  • Restores comfortable biting and chewing

Why patients choose crowns

Durable, natural, protective

Protects the tooth

Seals and strengthens a damaged tooth to prevent further cracking, decay or breakdown.

Looks natural

Custom-shaded porcelain blends beautifully with your surrounding teeth.

Long-lasting

With good care and regular checkups, a quality crown can last for many years.

What to expect

Getting your crown

A straightforward, comfortable process — here’s how it usually works.

1

Prepare

We gently shape the tooth and take a precise impression or digital scan of your bite.

2

Craft

Your custom crown is made to match your tooth’s shape and shade; a temporary protects it meanwhile.

3

Fit

We bond the finished crown securely in place and check that your bite feels natural.

Good to know

Dental crown questions

How many visits does a crown take?
Traditionally two — one to prepare the tooth and take an impression, and one to fit the finished crown. We’ll confirm the exact plan at your visit.
Will my crown look natural?
Yes. We match the shade and shape to your neighbouring teeth so it blends right in and no one can tell which tooth is crowned.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The tooth is fully numbed, so the procedure is comfortable. Any mild sensitivity afterward usually settles within a few days.
How do I care for a crown?
Just like a natural tooth — brush, floss and keep up with regular checkups. Avoid biting very hard objects like ice or pens.
How long will a crown last?
Many crowns last 10–15 years or more. Good oral hygiene, regular visits and protecting against grinding all help extend their life.
What are crowns made of?
Crowns can be made from porcelain, ceramic, metal or a combination. For front teeth we usually recommend tooth-coloured porcelain or ceramic for the most natural look, while back teeth may use stronger materials to handle heavier chewing. We’ll recommend the best material for your specific tooth.
